I agree
It’s just the bold Goose and I having a game of WHO tennis and dragging various peripherals on court
Of course, neither will win this specific debate tonight but I will be proved right within a month or so ;)

Top resilience in your stoic defence but there is a difference between scratching your arse and ripping it to shreds
Now I think we can agree, his board comments were exceptional in their praise, he could have remained on message politically without such depth of appreciation
Also, you are correct, he did say the window was hard, but google what he said about last summer’s, then what he said about last winter - I’ll give you a clue, it involved hard window
In fact, you don’t need to know what window it was, the comments are the same

Crassus

or none of the above.
he's been in the game long enough to know how to play things, there is no benefit to him throwing a hissy fit because they didn't get the players he wants.

he also knows - and said from the start - that january is really difficult to get the right players, and that is what he wants (the right players).

I think he's confident that he can get enough out of this group of players - he has before so why doubt him?

Nobody is coming out of this smelling of roses. We needed a striker, a left back and a full back. Got 0.

The Board and management fucked up and I don't give a toss about the accounts or whether the Daves are planning to cash in or not.

FFS - a burger van has to be run far better than this to stay in business.

I’ll address the Nunez farrago next
But first
If Moyes is innocent of all charges why was he so fulsome in his appreciation of the board’s efforts? Not just politically so, but absolutely full on, wankfest - he had no imperative to go that far

So is he a hopeless lickspittle
Or
Just transfer hopeless

One or the other mate

Re: An absolute Joke
The other thing that annoys me is that Dawson was 2m quid! What was coufal, 5m?

The idea that it’s too hard to find cheaper players that can compete at this level is bollocks. Moyes himself proved that.

Now he’s bidding for 50m players to go to the next level , when what we really need is bodies in that can take the load of the existing 11 whilst we compete for multiple competitions.

2 fucking positions was all we needed to give us a chance. I just don’t get it at all.

His explanations end up sounding more like so meone who is trying to con you than explain his rationale.

I wonder if any journalist will actually ask him proper questions about this?

Re: An absolute Joke
I didn’t say only £50m players would solve it.
But they do have to be up to the required standard. A standard set by Moyes.

Aside from that I’ll put my faith in Moyes & the players that have delivered so well over the last 18 months.

The bid for the Leeds pair looked like the result of a mad dream of revenge for Rio.

Unfortunately, Bielsa's not Redknapp.

Re: An absolute Joke
Goose

So, just to be clear. In your opinion if we lose games we should have won because of errors in the positions that we clearly need backup for .

And if those lost games mean we don’t have European football next season and finish outside the top 6/7, then to you it’s ok?

And only 50m plus players would have solved that problem?

Really?

Face it. The club as a whole are not desperate to win anything or stay in Europe. It’s pretty evident to me (and I’m sure the squad) that they are indifferent to success.

Re: An absolute Joke
errrrmm Barca were your example.

Braithewait is the perfect example of getting someone in for the sake of it and costing yourself a fortune in wages.

Re: An absolute Joke
Goose

The same Barcelona who have been desperate to offload players like Braithwaite because of their ridiculous wage bill?
The same Braithwaite who has scored 5 times in 2 and a half seasons?”

My point is,it’s not beneath a club like Barca to get in someone lower than their status if they have to.

Barca’s issues are not anything to do with braithwaite. It’s actually the big money “players to take us to the next level” signings of Couthinho, Dembele and Greizman that are killing them. And then not selling Messi for 100m to PSG only for him to go for free the following year!

So let’s not use your Barca example then..

Sullivan seems obsessed with 'winning' any transfer deal just so he can pat himself on the back and claim to be a master of negotiation who always gets one over on his adversary. I expect it's cost us a fair few players over the years along with this 'preferred agent' (i.e. his mates getting a backhander) or whatever bullshit that seems to be a recurring theme. I imagine he's a real unprofessional pain in the arse to deal with.

Re: An absolute Joke
Let’s be clear Zapata was available all window and is a better striker than either Antonio or Bowen so to say there’s nobody we could sign on the entire planet to strengthen the squad is a load of old horseshit.
I make Moyes right that we want the right players but we’ve had Yarmalenko starting games this season up top and he looks like a pub player so to say we couldn’t strengthen the squad and team is quite frankly a pack of lies

Re: An absolute Joke
"But i'm also hugely amused by the armchair fans who seem to think buying players in january is easy. Moyes knows his squad and i trust he knows which players he wants. He won't accept anything less"

Its not easy and the point about right players is well taken, but we've had who knows how long to come up with solutions to address gaping holes in our squad. Are we really being led to believe there aren't viable options out there that we couldn't have gotten over the line. Even Loans? Will these impossible to find "Right" players magically appear in the summer? Ultimately not sure where the blockers really are in the recruitment of players (Moyes or GSB) but its fairly concerning. We shall see.

WHU(Exeter) 5:54 Wed Feb 2
Re: An absolute Joke
Many moons ago Moyes said he could never work with Sullivan and Gold. With the total lack of meaningful activity in this last window, let's hope that won't turn out to be a prophecy.

Sullivan and Gold seem to have this never ending mental tactic of 'playing hardball ' time and time again, even though 9 times out of 10 it ends to their own detriment.

I'm not sure who they are trying to prove what to?
